Nara Dreamland

  I was watching one of my favorite YouTubers this Saturday while watching my hair. Defunctland makes videos about discontinued amusement parks/rides and his videos are super interesting. While he mainly talks about western theme parks, like Disney and Universal, I found one of his older videos on Nara Dreamland, a Japanese theme park founded in the 1960s. Nara Dreamland was actually supposed to be Japan’s first Disney World (even before Tokyo Disneyland), however, the founder, Kunizo Matsuo, and Walt Disney had a disagreement over licensing fees and the theme park lost access to Disney theming. Though Nara Dreamland eventually closed, largely due to competition when Tokyo Disneyland was built, it was still a super cool park and very interesting to learn about. It had a lot of cool, traditional Japanese theming and was purposefully built in Nara, Japan’s former capital, to reflect traditional Japanese history and culture. Super interesting video!

JJK Season 3

 So, I started JJK season 3. I watched the first season when it came out and didn’t like it all that much, so I largely watched the second season through Tiktok, but I decided to give season 3 a try. It’s really good so far. The animation is really beautiful and fluid. The first two episodes are also full of references to art history and literature, such as Yuuji being unable to wash the blood off his hands like Lady Macbeth and many frames in the OP reference historical art pieces. I might into continue watching it though because I’m going to be sad when basically all the character die.

冬やすみ

       私の冬休みはちょっと楽しかったです。でも、とてもつまらなかったです。一番楽しいことは弟と新しいイヌと遊びました。新しイヌの名前はBrownie Browne です。イヌはとても小さくて、かわいいですね！私のイヌは見てください！！！         そして、冬休みによく料理しました。たくさん魚を作りました。おいしくて、楽しかったです。          今学期、 いい成績を取るために頑張ります!

Two for one special: it got better and worse

 As we all know, throughout the semester, I’ve been watching both One Punch Man and Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill. As my last hurrah, I’ve decided to give my last updates on both and continue my agenda of getting everyone to watch my favorite shows! Firstly, One Punch Man got so much worse, omg. The animation is so stiff and episode 5 is now officially the worst rated anime episode EVER on IMDb with a 1.4/10. I’m super disappointed as I’ve been waiting for this season for like half a decade. The art style lacks crucial details for the character design, and every scene is barely animated with no motion. I heard that the newer episodes are a bit better but still this season has emotionally devastated me and I will never recover.  In better news, Campfire Cooking in Another World is still peak!!! The last episode has been my favorite so far. It was just so cutie! They made Japanese curry, fought a bunch of monsters, and took a bath. Incredible cinema. If ...

サンクスギビングの休み

 サンクスギビングの休みは楽しかったです。ニューヨークのしゅっしんにいきました。それから、姉だちいっしょにたくさんサンクスギビングの食べ物を料理しました。とてもおいしかったです。そして、かわいい弟と遊びました。サンクスギビングはとてもリラックスできました。でも、吹雪ですから、大学に帰るのはとても大変ですね！

Continuing my Isekai Agenda

 So, as I discussed earlier this semester, the second season of Campfire Cooking in Another World is currently airing and has brightened my every Tuesday with a new episode. The season is really good so far and I really like all the new characters (mainly Dora the pixie dragon). I definitely think understanding a bit of the Japanese makes watching the episodes more enjoyable and I like setting aside the time just to enjoy the show. I recommend everyone watch it, it’s super cute. Also, look at how cute Sui (the slime) is! They speak in super simplified casual speech and it’s adorable!
